Government Asked to Unite Against PDNS Hackers

INDONESIAUPDATES.COM, News En – The government has been urged to work together to combat hacker attacks on the Temporary National Data Center (PDNS). This follows the finger-pointing between the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo), the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), and Telkom.

“Yes, it requires understanding between people,” said House of Representatives (DPR) Commission I member Dave Akbarshah Fikarno Sunday, June 30, 2024.

The government must unite its views on these digital attacks. A solution must be found to overcome this attack and try to prevent similar incidents from happening again through regulations.

“This is manifested in the form of detailed regulations made in existing laws,” said Dave.

Previously, the government was blaming each other for the ransomware hacking of PDNS. This happened during a meeting at Commission I of the DPR.

It started when House of Representatives (DPR) Commission I member TB Hasanuddin asked about the lack of backup for PDNS and urged the government to be accountable. The blame game occurred between BSSN, Telkom, and the Ministry of Communication and Information.

“We are discussing, not me, we are with Kominfo, with the Director General, with Telkom. No. This is one unit of the Republic of Indonesia, here there is a minister, here there is the Head of BSSN. So one unit that cannot be separated. So if for example the backup facilities are provided sufficiently, why are they not used, who should organize it. Who? Then don’t say, ‘oh this should be these tenants’, it can’t be, this is the state. You have to be responsible,” said Hasanuddin during a meeting on Thursday, June 27, 2024.
