Chinese Premier Li Qiang Arrives in Jakarta for Three-Day State Visit

INDONESIAUPDATES.COM, News En – Chinese Premier Li Qiang landed at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta, on Saturday (May 24) at approximately 3:30 PM local time, commencing a three-day official visit to Indonesia from May 24 to 26, 2025.

Upon his arrival aboard an Air China flight, Premier Li was welcomed by Indonesia’s Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry, Rosan Roeslani, along with other government officials. A military guard of honour greeted him on the tarmac before he proceeded to shake hands with dignitaries and departed swiftly in a waiting sedan.

Li Qiang’s visit follows an official invitation from President Prabowo Subianto, who is scheduled to host a formal welcoming ceremony at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Sunday, May 25, at 10:00 AM.

“The Premier of the People’s Republic of China, Li Qiang, will conduct a three-day state visit to Indonesia and will be officially welcomed by President Prabowo at the Palace,” said Yusuf Permana, Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat.

Bilateral Talks and Strategic Cooperation

Following the welcoming ceremony, President Prabowo and Premier Li Qiang will hold a bilateral meeting and a delegation-level discussion, aimed at strengthening long-standing diplomatic ties and expanding cooperation in several strategic sectors.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia—a partnership that continues to demonstrate steady progress.

“China and Indonesia are maritime neighbors with a shared future. Our bilateral relationship has grown with meaningful outcomes in practical cooperation and deep-rooted friendship between our peoples,” said Mao Ning, Spokesperson of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Additional Meetings and Business Events

During his visit, Premier Li Qiang is also scheduled to meet with other Indonesian leaders and attend events organized by the Indonesian business community.

China hopes the visit will enhance solidarity, deepen coordination, and advance the five-pillar cooperation model: politics, economy, cultural and people-to-people exchange, maritime affairs, and security.

The visit will conclude with an official luncheon hosted by President Prabowo at the State Palace.
