The incident took place on Wednesday morning (30/4) around 09:00 WIB, when a group of around 20 people reportedly attempted to take control of a contested land plot in Kemang Raya, located in Bangka Village, Mampang Prapatan District.
“The group was met with resistance by another faction who claimed to be the rightful heirs of the land. The situation escalated quickly with stone-throwing and physical confrontation, causing traffic congestion in the area,” explained Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi, spokesperson for the Jakarta Metro Police.
Police were immediately dispatched to the scene and managed to disperse the groups before the violence worsened. Several participants fled and are still being pursued by law enforcement.
“The area is now secure, and our investigation is ongoing. We are still tracking down those who were involved but managed to escape,” Ade Ary stated.
