INDONESIAUPDATES.COM, News En – In a significant operation, the Task Force Pamtas Yonarmed 11 Kostrad successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle 57 prospective Indonesian migrant workers (CPMI) without official documents across the Indonesia-Malaysia border. The operation took place on Thursday, February 20, 2025, in Kampung Bugis T-junction, Bambang Village, West Sebatik District, Nunukan, North Kalimantan (Kaltara).

A Coordinated Effort to Thwart Illegal Activity

The operation began when Task Force Commander, Lieutenant Arm Gde Adhy Surya Mahendra, received intelligence about a speedboat transporting illegal CPMI passengers from Numpukan to Sebatik Island. Acting on this information, the Task Force immediately coordinated with local intelligence units, led by Lettu Arm Haikal Ibn Adnin Ashar, to conduct field inspections.

The team mobilized and conducted thorough checks at strategic locations, leading to the discovery of five vehicles suspected of transporting the illegal migrant workers. Upon inspection, the five vehicles were found to be carrying 57 CPMI, including 42 adults and 15 children.

Swift Action and Joint Efforts

The vehicles and their passengers were immediately escorted to Bambangan Post for further examination. After the checks, it was confirmed that all 57 individuals lacked the necessary legal documents to travel abroad. The Task Force then handed the CPMI over to the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Service Hall (BP3MI) of Nunukan District for further processing and protection.
