Megawati Soekarnoputri’s presence at PDIP’s National Bimtek in Bali drew attention with rare family moments alongside Puan Maharani and Prananda Prabowo. Over 3,000 legislators gathered in a show of unity and party discipline.
Jakarta, En Indonesiaupdates - The atmosphere at the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) National Technical Guidance (Bimtek) in Bali turned both exciting and emotional with the appearance of the party’s General Chairperson, Megawati Soekarnoputri.
Held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at The Meru & Bali Beach Convention Center in Denpasar, Megawati walked in confidently, accompanied by her son M. Prananda Prabowo, who serves as the PDIP DPP Chair for Creative Economy.
As she arrived, her daughter, Puan Maharani, Chair of the PDIP Central Executive Board for Politics, warmly greeted her with a heartfelt hug in front of fellow party elites. It was a rare and touching moment, not just between family members, but also among key PDIP leaders.
The three walked side by side toward the main Bimtek venue, chatting and smiling. Prananda and Puan exchanged laughter and embraced briefly, symbolizing unity—not only in blood but also in ideology.
Megawati even held her daughter’s hand gently, further emphasizing the strong emotional connection within this political family.
Closed-Door Briefing by Megawati
The main agenda featured a closed-door briefing by Megawati to thousands of PDIP legislators from across Indonesia. The Bimtek session was attended by around 3,200 participants, including members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) and local-level DPRDs representing the PDIP faction for the 2024–2029 term.
It marked one of PDIP’s largest internal gatherings, aimed at consolidating its vision and strengthening ideological unity across all levels of governance.
“Madam’s Message” from Puan Maharani
During the event, Puan Maharani took center stage to deliver a keynote speech. Her message echoed the party’s core values and emphasized the need for unity under Megawati’s leadership.
"We may come from different backgrounds and face different challenges in each region," Puan said, "but we must walk the same path, with the same goals and under the same ideological leadership—guided by Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri."
She also stressed the importance of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) as the soul of the party’s work, from the national to the grassroots level.
